Comparing the Chevy Trax and the Blazer has never been easier than when you work with the team at Irwin Chevrolet. Let us help you explore feature offerings, available options, power, performance, and more when you compare these two great vehicles.

Power and Performance

The Chevrolet Blazer is powered by a 2.0 L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with standard FWD and available AWD configuration. There's also an available 3.6 L V6 engine for drivers needing more power output. These engines deliver 228 horsepower and 308 horsepower, respectively. The Chevrolet Trax brings with it only one engine option. The Available 1.2 L turbocharged 3-cylinder engine puts out a modest 137 horsepower. This small but mighty engine offers better fuel efficiency than the Blazer, however, with a combined EPA estimate of 27 MPG as compared to the Blazer's combined 25 MPG.

Get the Versatility You Need

The Chevrolet Trax is a better fit for everyday commuters who want to cut down on their automotive costs. This is thanks to its affordable trim options. While the Chevrolet Blazer offers more choices in trim levels, lower trims still offer that level of affordability found in the Trax. The Blazer is offered in six unique trims, with the base model L starting at $29,995. The Chevy Trax offers three trims, with the base model LS starting at $22,295. For everyday commuting, the Trax might be a better fit; however, the Blazer makes it easy to get more power and comfort options as you climb the higher trim levels.

Standard Features and Add-Ons

Both the Chevrolet Blazer and the Chevrolet Trax do a great job offering the features drivers want. The Chevrolet Blazer does come out on top, however, simply because it offers more standard features. Both models offer standard keyless entry, smartphone integration via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a navigation system. The Trax adds on available keyless ignition and includes more upgrade options, including an available heated steering wheel, a sunroof or moonroof, wireless charging capabilities, adaptive cruise control, and others.

Interior Space

You’ll have plenty of space for all your passengers and gear in both the Chevrolet Trax and the Chevrolet Blazer. Both models comfortably seat up to five passengers and have a practically designed cabin. The Trax offers 18.7 cubic feet of rear storage space compared to the Blazer’s almost double 30.5 cubic feet of storage space.

Safety Comes Standard

Both models are among the top rated when it comes to safety thanks to the automaker's comprehensive safety suite, Chevy Safety Assist. This suite of safety features includes automatic emergency braking, a following distance indicator, lane keep assist, and automatic high beams.  The Chevrolet Blazer does win out with safety equipment because of more available options, including blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert add-ons.
