Get Ready to Work Hard and Play Hard

Chevrolet is a truck brand synonymous with power, efficiency, and reliability. The same is true for the new 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD Trail Boss, which will soon be on the road near you.

January saw the unveiling of the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD Trail Boss, which completes the brand's Trail Boss lineup. It's fully decked out with off-road upgrades, and Irwin Chevrolet takes a look at how much this big pickup will cost and what you'll get.

Options and Upgrades

The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD Trail Boss package costs $4,005 when added as an option for the LT trim and $3,755 when added to the LTZ trim. The package includes a wide range of upgrades, including black grille accents, black painted wheels, and painted bumpers. Other practical upgrades include red tow hooks, BFGoodrich off-road tires, and trailer mirrors. Some options are exclusive to the trim level you choose, but most come with both trims.

Equipment Rundown

In terms of aesthetic upgrades, the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD Trail Boss adds a black grille bar, black grille inserts, 20-inch black painted wheels, black painted bumpers, black badging, black painted door handles, and a black Chevy emblem on the horn pad. For practical upgrades, the package includes:

  • Red tow hooks.
  • BFG tires.
  • A black skid plate.
  • A Chevytec spray-on bedliner.
  • A black hood vent.
  • Black mirror caps.
Upgrades found only on the LT include high-intensity LED headlights and trailer mirrors. The LTZ gets exclusive black beltline moldings.

Choosing Your Trail Boss Package

If you opt for the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD Trail Boss LT trim, you'll also need to get the Convenience Package, the Safety Package, the Off-Road Package, and the Jet Black interior. Combined, these packages cost $3,705. If you get the LTZ trim, you'll need to get the Safety Package, the Off-Road Package, and the Jet Black interior to add the Trail Boss package. Combined, these extras cost $1,720. The standard engine is a 6.6-liter gas V8, but the 6.6-liter Duramax diesel V8 is optional.

Why Buy the Trail Boss?

Arguably, the Trail Boss package is a more affordable way to get some off-road goodies and striking aesthetics versus buying the ZR2 model, which costs $72,000 and up. The overall cost of the Trail Boss model ranges between $55,000 and $65,000, depending on the trim you choose to add it to. For the HD Silverado, this is the first time the Trail Boss has been made available. The Silverado 1500 has offered a Trail Boss package for a long time. The HD truck is already quite a bit more expensive, so going to the top of the range for the ZR2 might not be feasible for many buyers.
